Event Summary | This course will provide delegates with an understanding of some of the most common mental health disorders, what causes them, how to spot someone suffering with them, harmful coping strategies and how to deal with them, effective mental health conversations and the various ways in which help and support can be accessed from specialist services. | ||||||
Event description | This 6hr course will provide knowledge about mental health conditions which will enable you to support your pupils and their families, your own friends and family and your work colleagues as well as provide hints and tips for improving and maintaining your own mental wellbeing. The course covers stress, depression, anxiety, OCD and PTSD, and stigma of mental health and how we can play a part in encouraging people to discuss mental health. You will also examine harmful coping strategies such as self harm, eating disorders and substance abuse and develop skills in starting and progressing an effective conversation about mental health. | ||||||
Additional information | All delegates will be provided with an e-copy of the course booklet and resources to use during the session, and will also be able to access various digital resources for their own professional and personal use on completion of the course. Delegates who complete the course will receive an attendance certificate via email. The session will be delivered remotely using Zoom/TEAMS. A link to the meeting will be sent out in advance. Displayed fees are subject to VAT. |
